Joint Research Projects between China and Malaysia Applicant Guidelines 2024 Ref. No. SSTCRC2512
Project Cooperation Agreement:
"Minutes of the 3rd Meeting of the China-Malaysia Inter-governmental Joint Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation"
Fields and Directions:
1.Energy Storage Technology, which is of crucial significance in modern society. It aims to develop more efficient and sustainable ways to store energy. For instance, advanced battery systems are being explored to enhance energy density and lifespan, enabling longer-lasting power supply for portable electronics and electric vehicles. Additionally, energy storage devices for various applications such as grid-scale energy storage are under intensive research. These efforts will contribute to a more stable and reliable energy supply, reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels and promoting the development of renewable energy sources.
2.Human Vaccines, with a core focus on the research and development of novel vaccines. In the face of constantly evolving infectious diseases, scientists are dedicated to creating vaccines that can provide more effective protection. This includes not only vaccines for well-known diseases but also those for emerging and potential epidemic threats. By preventing infectious diseases, it not only safeguards individual health but also has a profound impact on improving public health at large, reducing the burden on healthcare systems and enhancing the overall well-being of communities.
3.Space Technology, which involves a wide range of aspects. Satellite technologies play a vital role in communication, navigation, and Earth observation. They enable global connectivity, accurate positioning, and detailed monitoring of the planet's environment and resources. Space exploration research is also an essential part, aiming to expand our understanding of the universe, search for signs of extraterrestrial life, and develop technologies suitable for long-duration space missions. Related applications extend to areas like space tourism and asteroid mining, opening up new frontiers for human activities and economic development.
4.Artificial Intelligence, which is actively exploring the development and application of intelligent algorithms. These algorithms can process vast amounts of data, extract valuable insights, and make predictions. Machine learning models, such as deep learning neural networks, are trained to recognize patterns and make decisions. AI-powered systems are being integrated into various industries, from healthcare for disease diagnosis and treatment planning, to manufacturing for process optimization and quality control, revolutionizing the way we work and live.
5.Blockchain, which is dedicated to studying the secure and decentralized ledger technology. In the financial sector, it offers enhanced transparency and security for transactions, reducing the risks of fraud and improving the efficiency of payment systems. In the supply chain, it enables traceability of products from origin to destination, ensuring authenticity and quality. It also has potential applications in areas like digital identity management and intellectual property protection, providing a new paradigm for data integrity and trust.
6.Advanced Materials, which focuses on researching materials with unique properties and functions for high-tech industries. This includes materials with high strength and light weight for aerospace and automotive applications, smart materials that can change their properties in response to external stimuli for sensors and actuators, and nanomaterials with extraordinary chemical and physical properties for electronics and biomedical fields. The development of advanced materials will drive innovation and competitiveness in multiple high-tech sectors, enabling the creation of more advanced and efficient products and technologies.
