Joint Research Projects between China and Vietnam Applicant Guidelines 2024 Ref. No. SSTCRC2511
Project Cooperation Agreement:
"Protocol of the Eleventh Meeting of the Joint Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Chinese and Vietnamese Governments".
Fields and Directions:
1.Medicine and Health: Traditional Medicines and Herbal Medicines. The research in this area will focus on the exploration and comparison of traditional medicine theories, formulas, and treatment methods in both China and Vietnam. It aims to identify potential new drug candidates or improved therapeutic regimens by analyzing the similarities and differences in the use of traditional herbs and their pharmacological effects. For example, certain herbs that have been used for centuries in both countries may have different preparation methods or application scenarios, and this research will dig deeper into these aspects.
2.Automation Technology: Service Robots. The project will involve the joint development and optimization of service robots. This includes improving the robot's intelligence level, such as enhancing its ability to understand and respond to human commands, and its adaptability to different service environments. Additionally, research on the integration of Vietnamese and Chinese cultural elements into the design and interaction of robots will be carried out to make the robots more suitable for the cultural backgrounds and user needs of both countries. For instance, the design of the robot's appearance and its communication language patterns can be adjusted according to cultural preferences.
3.Water Resources: Basin Water Resources Management in Adaptation to Climate Change. The study will conduct comprehensive investigations and analyses of the water resources in the basins of both countries. It will focus on understanding the impact of climate change on water quantity and quality, and develop corresponding management strategies and technologies. This may involve the establishment of joint monitoring systems, the sharing of data and research findings, and the joint exploration of water-saving and water purification technologies. For example, through joint research, more efficient irrigation systems and water treatment methods can be developed to deal with the challenges of water shortage and pollution.
4.Disaster Prevention and Mitigation: Multi-hazard Early Warning Systems. The cooperation will center on the research and development of early warning systems for multiple disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and typhoons. This includes improving the accuracy and timeliness of hazard prediction, strengthening the communication and coordination mechanisms between the two countries in disaster prevention and mitigation, and sharing relevant technologies and experiences. For example, the establishment of a joint disaster data center and the development of unified warning signal standards and dissemination channels.
Number of Projects to be Supported: 4.
Total Funding to be Supported: 8 million yuan.
Other Requirements:The cooperation projects must be jointly declared by both sides. Declaration by a single side is invalid.
The project implementation period is 3 years.
