Project Cooperation Agreement:
"Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Kingdom of Spain on Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation in Key Areas" and "Funding Conditions for the 2024 China-Spain Innovation Cooperation Project Joint Call (China-Spain Card Program) by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the National Agency for Industrial Technology Development of Spain"
Fields and Directions:
1.Sustainable Cities: Focus on urban planning and design that promotes energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable transportation. Research technologies and strategies for improving urban resilience to climate change, enhancing the quality of urban living environments, and integrating smart technologies into urban infrastructure and services.
2.Production Technologies, including Intelligent Manufacturing: Explore advanced manufacturing technologies such as automation, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) in industrial production. Develop intelligent manufacturing systems that can improve production efficiency, product quality, and flexibility, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.
3.Biomedicine and Health Technologies, including those related to Vulnerability and Extreme Ages, Climate Change-related Health, "Big Health", Sustainability of Health Systems, and Global Pandemics: Conduct research in areas such as personalized medicine, regenerative medicine, and digital health. Develop innovative medical technologies and solutions to address health challenges related to aging populations, climate change impacts on health, and the need for sustainable and efficient health systems. Also, focus on epidemic prevention and control strategies and technologies.
4.Clean Technologies, including those related to the Environment, Renewable Energy, or Water Governance and Treatment: Research and develop technologies for environmental protection, such as air and water pollution control, waste management, and soil remediation. Explore renewable energy generation and storage technologies, and develop sustainable water management and treatment solutions to address environmental and resource challenges.
5.Modern Agriculture, including Sustainable Agriculture, Food Processing, Food Hygiene, Animal Food and Hygiene, Fisheries, and Aquaculture: Focus on developing sustainable agricultural production methods, improving food processing technologies to enhance food safety and quality, and promoting the sustainable development of the agricultural and food sectors. Research in areas such as animal nutrition and health, fisheries resource management, and aquaculture technologies.
6.Advanced Materials: Develop new materials with excellent performance and environmental friendliness. Research on materials that can be recycled and reused, reducing the environmental impact of material production and consumption. Focus on applications in various industries such as energy, construction, and transportation.
Number of Projects to be Supported: 20 projects.
Total Funding to be Supported: 60 million yuan.
Other Requirements:
1.The implementation period of the project is in principle 2 - 3 years.
2.Both sides support industry-driven and market-oriented joint R&D and technology cooperation projects and encourage the combination of industry, academia, and research. Chinese enterprises that are the applicant or participating units should provide matching funds at least equal to the government funding they receive. The Western applicant or participating units should include at least one enterprise, and the Western enterprise must provide matching funds according to the relevant requirements of the National Agency for Industrial Technology Development of Spain.
3.The project cooperation parties need to submit application materials to the project solicitation departments of their respective countries. The application of a single party is invalid.
4.In addition to applying as required in this notice, the Chinese applicant unit must also cooperate with the Western applicant unit to fill in the English project application form, which will be submitted by the Western applicant unit to the National Agency for Industrial Technology Development of Spain.
5.When the cooperation units of both sides apply, they should also submit a cooperation agreement signed by all Chinese and Western cooperation units. The agreement should include intellectual property clauses, or submit a dedicated intellectual property agreement signed by all Chinese and Western cooperation units.
