Project Cooperation Agreement:
"Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Japan International Cooperation Agency on Joint Research from 2023 to 2025"
Fields and Directions:
1.Environment: Focus on issues such as environmental pollution control, ecological restoration, and sustainable environmental management. Research advanced environmental protection technologies and strategies to address challenges like air and water pollution, waste disposal, and ecological degradation.
2.Energy Conservation: Explore energy-efficient technologies and practices in various sectors, including industry, buildings, and transportation. Develop energy-saving solutions to reduce energy consumption and improve energy utilization efficiency, contributing to the goal of sustainable energy use.
3.Carbon Neutrality: Study carbon emission reduction pathways and technologies, such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), renewable energy integration, and low-carbon industrial processes. Promote the transition to a carbon-neutral economy and society.
4.Medical Care (including Coping with Aging): Conduct research in medical fields such as geriatric medicine, preventive medicine, and advanced medical technologies. Develop innovative medical solutions and services to address the health needs of the aging population and improve overall healthcare quality.
5.Agriculture: Concentrate on agricultural innovation, including high-yield crop breeding, sustainable agricultural practices, and agricultural technology transfer. Enhance agricultural productivity and food security while promoting environmentally friendly and resource-efficient agriculture.
6.Disaster Mitigation and Prevention: Research disaster risk assessment, early warning systems, and disaster response and recovery strategies. Strengthen the ability to prevent and cope with natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and typhoons.
Number of Projects to be Supported: 20.
Total Support Funds: 60 million yuan.
Other Requirements: The cooperation projects are joint research projects. The project leaders from both China and Japan jointly determine the research projects and must apply separately to the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and JICA of Japan. The application of a single party is invalid.The Japanese cooperating units are limited to enterprises registered in Japan.
